The Village at Beechwood Moves Toward Near-Zero Net Energy

Join us for a celebration with our friends at LINC Housing Corporation as they kick-off a sustainability retrofit project at The Village at Beechwood, an affordable housing property located in Lancaster, CA.

The retrofit work is part of a demonstration project managed by LINC and SEED Partners in partnership with EPRI and BiraEnergy, sponsored through the California Energy Commission’s (CEC) Public Interest Energy Research (PIER) program, and the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The $2.46 million project includes engineering, research, project management, and construction of energy efficiency upgrades and renewable energy to test innovative and scalable approaches in the multifamily market, including near-zero net energy. Additional support is provided by Southern California Gas Company and Southern California Edison.

This event also celebrates a recent green job training workshop we conducted in collaboration with Labor Ready for residents to learn more about careers in the green economy and solar installation.
